Ingredients for a Barbecue Delight

  • Lean Pork Chops: 8 boneless pieces, with fat trimmed, serving as our star ingredient.
  • Homemade BBQ Sauce: A rich blend of tomato paste, white vinegar, brown sugar, and spices, including a hint of ground cloves and mustard, to coat our chops in deliciousness.
  • Vegetables: White mushrooms and onions, sliced and chopped, to add depth and nutrition to our dish.

Step-by-Step to BBQ Perfection

Preparing the Pork Chops

  1. Browning the Stars: Kick things off by lightly browning your pork chops in a non-stick skillet. Achieving that perfect sear adds layers of flavor.

Crafting the BBQ Sauce

  1. Sauce Symphony: In a saucepan, mix tomato paste, vinegar, salt, cloves, sugar, and mustard. Stir and bring to a boil, letting the flavors marry beautifully.
  2. Veggie Mix-In: Toss in the mushrooms and onions, ensuring they’re well-coated with the sauce for an extra veggie boost.

Freezing for Future Feasts

  1. Layer and Pour: Arrange the browned pork chops in a freezer container. Lovingly ladle the sauce over them, ensuring each chop is smothered in saucy goodness.
  2. Cool, Label, and Freeze: Let the container cool, then seal and label it. Into the freezer it goes, waiting patiently for its big day.

Serving Your BBQ Masterpiece

Thaw and Bake

  1. Patience is Key: Thaw your pork chops in the refrigerator overnight. Anticipation builds flavor, after all.
  2. Bake to BBQ Glory: Preheat your oven to 350°F and bake the chops, covered, for 1 1/2 hours. If you’ve opted for smaller batches, adjust the time accordingly.

Tips for the Perfect Dish

  • Serving Suggestions: These BBQ pork chops pair beautifully with a side of roasted vegetables or a light salad for a balanced meal.
  • Make It Your Own: Feel free to tweak the BBQ sauce to your liking. Love it spicy? Add a dash of chili powder or cayenne pepper.
