You have your eye on a brand new kitchen table and chairs set, or a new television for the living room, but it is just too far out of your budget to be able to afford it without going into debt. There are other ways to get that big ticket item that you think you can’t afford.
First, shop around to get a good idea of the price of the particular one you want. Then break it down in terms of monthly payments. If you saved $25 each month, you could purchase a $250 TV in only six months.
You can also adjust the amount you save, and the duration over which you save it. Maybe $15 over 12 months is better for you, or maybe you can afford to set aside $50 for four months.
Think about what you can save and with a commitment and will power, you will be able to afford your big ticket item before you know it, without going into debt.
