If you have ever cut onions and survived the inevitable crying it causes, you have then probably noticed how your hands smell like onions… even after you have thoroughly washed them with hot water and soap. The smell of onions just seems to cling to your skin, especially your hands. But you don’t exactly want to smell like onions if you are making dinner for your hot date!
To remove the smell of onions, there are two tried-and-true tricks you can use. First, simply rub a small amount of dry mustard into your hands. Second, you can rub your hands with white vinegar to remove the smell. Most prefer the mustard trick because they don’t end up simply replacing the smell of onions with the smell of vinegar! But both work if you don’t have dry mustard. Just wash your hands thoroughly with soap after the vinegar.
If you need to remove onion breath, chew on a piece of parsley with a bit of vinegar on it.
