How many times have you discovered something gone bad in the bottom of a refrigerator crisper drawer, then you have to pull out the entire drawer, make it fit in the sink, and then scrub it clean. But there are ways you can make the clean up job go by event faster.
Purchase inexpensive – but super absorbent – kitchen towels and use them to line the crisper drawer. Then if something goes bad, you can pull out the towel, and give the drawer a quick wipe if needed, then simply throw the towel in the laundry.
If you prefer to go the disposable route, rather than potentially throwing moldy (or worse!) towels into your washing machine, line the drawers with either regular kitchen paper towels, or the slightly heavier duty shop towels variety. Then when something goes bad, toss the paper towels, wipe the drawer, and start over again.
If you compost, and you remove product from their plastic bags before you place it in the crisper, you might consider also lining with newspaper, that way if a messy disaster strikes, you can dump the contents of the entire crisper into your compost or your kitchen scrap recycling bin, for those who have those programs in your community. You can compost plain paper towels, but most shop-style towels cannot be composted.
