Low Fat Marinara Sauce

  • 2 28- oz cans low sodium whole tomatoes
  • 1 onion chopped
  • 2 carrots diced
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt


  • Using a blender or food processor, blend tomatoes until pureed. In a skillet, sauté carrot, onions and garlic until softened.
  • Add all ingredients into slow cooker, cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours.
  • Stir and serve over pasta noodles. If you prefer thicker marinara, remove lid and cook on high for up to one hour.
