How to fix small cracks and chips in your windshield

Did you get a small chip or crack in your windshield? Like most people who don't get it fixed it is either because you cannot afford a new windshield or the deductable on your insurance to get the windshield replaced.

There is a do-it-yourself fix that can help prevent it from spreading. Take clear nail polish and carefully paint the crack on both the inside and outside of the glass. Allow to dry in the sun.

The outside may need to be redone every month or so depending on how much rain and windshield wiper use goes over the crack. You can redo the inside at the same time if you wish. This fix won't make the crack or chip "disappear" but it will help keep the crack from spreading across your entire windshield and will help keep a chip from spidering on the windshield.
