Jambalaya Crock Pot Recipe
Yes, you can really make Jambalaya right in your crockpot. The flavors have plenty of time to merry together while cooking. Best of all, it is a relatively short period of time to cook, meaning you can start it in the afternoon and have it ready for dinner.

- slow cooker
Ingredients
- 4 lb roasting chicken cut up in pieces
- 3 diced onions
- 1 sliced carrot
- 4 minced garlic cloves
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tsp dried basil
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/8 tsp white pepper
- 14 oz can crushed tomatoes
- 1 lb shelled raw shrimp
- 2 cups cooked rice
Instructions
- In a slow cooker, combine all ingredients but shrimp and rice.
- Cover and cook on low 2-4 hours, until chicken is tender.
- Add shrimp and rice.
- Cover again, change the heat setting to high, and cook 20 minutes, or until shrimp are done.
