How full can your crock pot be?

Ever wonder just how full your crock pot can be? Or if you have ever doubled a recipe that nearly overflows your slow cooker and wondered why it didn't work out like you thought it would? Most people don't realize that how full your crock pot is affects how well your recipe will turn out.

Ideally, your crock pot should be between 1/2 and 2/3 full. Any fuller and your meal might not cook. And if it is less full, you could run into the problem with your food being overcooked if the recipe you were using didn't take that into account when creating it.
