Apple Butter Crock Pot Recipe
Apple butter is one of those great old fashioned recipes that is seldom homemade yet is uncommon to find in a store. Bring out the pioneer in you by making this apple butter in the crock pot, which will also make your house smell wonderful as it cooks through the day. It is versatile and can be used on warm biscuits, toast or even as an apple butter sandwich.
- slow cooker
- 8 c. applesauce
- 7 c. sugar you can add more depending on the sweetness of the applesauce
- 3 tsp. cinnamon or 1/2 tsp. oil of cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp. cloves
- Add applesauce and sugar to crock pot. Cover and cook on high 4-5 hours.
- Add cinnamon and cloves, then cook uncovered 4-5 hours more on high, stirring occasionally.
