Preparing Your Seafood Delight
Cooking the Pasta & Veggies
- Pasta Perfection: Begin by boiling your pasta to al dente, as per the package’s instructions. This ensures your casserole has the perfect texture.
- Sauté to Savory: In a skillet, melt a bit of butter and sauté your onions, mushrooms, green pepper, and garlic until everything is tender yet crisp, setting the stage for flavor.
Combining the Magic
- Mix & Assemble: Combine the drained pasta with your sautéed veggies, then gently fold in the crabmeat, sour cream, salt, and basil. This mix is where your casserole starts to come alive with flavor.
Freezing for Future Feasts
Assemble & Freeze
- Layer & Love: Evenly distribute your pasta mixture into two 8″ square baking dishes, sprinkle with cheddar cheese, and then cover for the freezer. Your future self will thank you for this ready-to-go meal.
From Freezer to Feast
Thaw & Bake
- Ready When You Are: Thaw your casserole overnight in the fridge, then bake covered at 350°F until bubbly and golden. The aroma of baked cheese and seafood will fill your kitchen, inviting everyone to the table.
