If you have a daughter, you've probably heard the plea for one of those expensive glitter Easter egg dye kits that seem to cost several times more than the standard fun kit. The good thing is that you can get mom points by making your own glitter easter egg kit... and if you are like me, you probably already have the glitter in your craft supplues to do it!
For each color you want, in a small container suitable for dipping eggs combine 1/2 cup boiling water, 1 tsp vinegar and ten drops of food coloring (mix colors to create your own color from the food coloring you have on hand!).
Dip the eggs in the color for 2-5 minutes, depending on the intensity of the color (the longer the egg is in, the darker and more vibrant the color).
Remove the eggs and let dry on paper towels or wax paper. If there is any drops left from where the egg sat on the paper, gently pat dry with a paper towel.
Place glitter on a flat surface such as a plate. Brush the egg lightly with glue then roll in glitter and allow to dry.
