Kids love to make this stained glass craft.
With a black crayon, create an outline of a picture (older children can do this) or make squiggles and swirls on the paper, creating plenty of little spaces for coloring in different colors. Then with colored crayons, fill in the insides of the drawing between the black crayon lines.
Using a cotton pad or a folded up paper towel, dip into vegetable oil, then gently rub the drawing, which will turn the paper translucent. Leave about 1/2″ around the outsides as oil-free.
Cut a piece of black construction paper for an outside border, and glue or tape to the edges (being careful to glue/tape on the non-oiled outside border).
Hang in the window in the sunlight and enjoy!
