If you are lucky, you have put a child in charge of cleaning the bird’s cage! But if the duty falls to you or you want to help out your child by making the bird cage changing an easier job, use this trick.
Next time you need to change the bird cage, trace out the apporpriate size of the bottom of the cage with a piece of cardboard. This will become the template for creating batches of clean papers for the cage.
Next, stack up old newspaper and using a thick marker, trace out the outline of the template onto the newspaper. Then set your older kids to cutting out the newspaper.
When you clean the cage, dump out the old newspaper, and then place a few of the new newspaper cutouts into the bottom of the cage – thick enough so that any messes don’t soak through to the bottom of the cage. Repeat!
Always keep the template handy so that when you run low or end up with a bunch of extra newspaper, simply trace and cut out more!
