How
to accomodate more party guests in a small house
Is your party guest
list larger than your house will hold? Here are some tips
to alleviate space issues.
Stagger Party
Times
Who says everyone has to show up at the same time? Send some
party invites with 5-8pm as the party time and 6-9pm for the
second batch of invites. This will help not having all your
guests arrive within the same 15 minute window, but also because
some guests will likely leave before some arrive.
Make space
Rearrange the furniture to make your house more open.
Use outside
space
Can you take advantage of the backyard or patio? If so, set
up lanterns or garden torches as well as small tables to set
drinks on. Put food outside on tables to encourage some people
to go outside the house rather than all inside.
Clear out the
closet
Since you probably won't have guests in your bedroom, pull
out all the coats hanging in your hall closet to guests can
hang their coats there, and not put them on furniture that
could otherwise have guests sitting on them.
Spread out the
food
Don't put all the food in the kitchen or in one room. Spread
it out to other rooms, that way people don't all congregate
in the same room. The same goes for drinks.
