You've invited friends over who prefer a martini to the wine you've chosen. But if you don't have a martini shaker, there are couple easy ways you can make your own.

Probably the easiest way is to take a travel coffee mug, and use it as a martini shaker. Put the ice and cocktail ingredients into your coffee mug, screw on the land and close the spout. Shake it up, being careful to put your thumb over top of the opening so the lid doesn't fly open at an inopportune moment and douse the room with your guest's martini of choice. Then simply open the drinking spout, and easily pour the martini into martini glasses without worrying about the ice falling out.

Don't have a travel mug? Then take to glasses, one slightly smaller than the other so that the tops of each glass sit inside each other, but the ingredients in the larger glass, and use the smaller glasses a lid.

Do you entertain frequently? You can pick up nice martini shakers for only a few dollars if budget is an issue. By these methods will get you through in the meantime, in a pinch or on a budget.
