If you have a party, you might think that getting RSVPs isn’t important, but in actual fact, it is pretty crucial! There is nothing worse than having a party where only a handful of people show up, or worse, when you keep inviting more people than you have room for, simply because no one mentioned to you that they were coming! And that can be just as bad!
Try and avoid asking for “Regrets only”, meaning for people to only contact you if they do not planning on attending. This can cause problems because some people may feel embarrassed about saying they can’t come, and then you end up with an empty party.
Many people have begun including email only for RSVPs when it comes to party invites, but you should always include a phone number so that people can contact you incase they don’t have email or they have a work-only email address.
About a week before the party, you might want to phone some of the guests you haven’t heard from, or drop a quick email and see if they plan to attend. Chances are they meant to RSVP and simply kept forgetting when it wasn’t 2am in the morning or were in a meeting.
You can also you something like evite.com for your party invites, if you are fairly certain most people you are inviting have internet access. People do like seeing who else is invited and/or attending for a variety of reasons, so this is a good way – as well as an easy way – to do your RSVPs.
