Spiral lemon peels (or lime or orange peels) can add a classy touch to any mixed drink, especially martinis. Fortunately, they are super easy to create.
First, choose lemons, limes or oranges with firm skins. This will make it easy to peel. Wash them well and remove any grocery fruit stickers that might be on. Dry with a towel to prevent any slippage.
Starting at the top, use a vegetable peeler or zester (or if you are talented with a knife, use a paring knife) and carefully peel around the fruit, peeling it in a long spiral strip. You can then cut it into suitable sized pieces for garnishes.
