One fun way is get your toddler interested in potty training (or to retain the interest) is to let them choose which potty seat they want. And potty seats have come a long way over the years, complete with all the bells and whistles that were unimaginable only a few years ago.
For instance, many potty seats are available in characters from Blues Clues to Scooby-Doo. Even Elmo has his very own potty chair.
Other toilets play favorite toddler songs, have ultra-cushie seats, or are made of different bright colors to appeal to your toddler’s eye.
If you already have decided that a musical potty is just too annoying for you, take care not to point that one out when you go shopping. And the potty you tell your son or daughter they absolutely cannot have, will certainly be the one they want, so show the potty selections carefully (or take an advance trip alone to scope out the potty section).
You can even wrap up the potty once you get home, so then your toddler can unwrap the paper and find their chosen potty seat, to make it more exciting, particularly if your toddler wasn’t as enthused about selecting the potty as you had hoped.
