As a mom, you may balk at buying more expensive panties or underwear for your little potty trainer, and think that the plain less-expensive panties are just as good. But when you are introducing your child to potty training, you may be surprised to find that wearing those special Blues Clues panties or Sponge Bob Square Pants underwear may be just the incentive your little one needs to start training.
Now, I am not saying you need to go out and buy 24 pairs of underwear adorned with your child’s favorite character, although if you can afford it, go for it. But buying six or nine pairs (the character ones tend to be sold in packs of three) is probably well worth the investment, considering they will probably fit them for at least two years, and the earlier your child is potty trained, the less money you will spend on diapers.
But children can become completely enamored with their character underwear. They will want to wear their big girl or big boy underwear, and probably show them off as well. And they will want to keep them dry, so they can continue to wear their special ones.
You can also think of it this way – would you rather wear white granny underwear because they are cheaper, or would you rather wear satin or lace panties? Most kids would rather wear underwear with their favorite characters on it than the plain and ordinary counterparts.
