It is often the little things that can raise your stress level. Why not try and eliminate those little things, so you can help keep your stress within manageable levels? It is much easier than it sounds, believe it or not.
If seeing a sink full of dishes when you start making supper, try making a point of doing the dishes in the morning, so it won’t stress you out when seeing them again at suppertime.
If you find people always call when you are making supper, start letting the answering machine pick up so you aren’t interupted. You can always check the message right after the person hangs up, if you worry it might be important. Or get caller ID, that way if it is your annoying neighbor, you can let the machine get it, but if it is your hubby on his way home from work, you can answer.
If toys all over the house drive you crazy, start a ritual where every hour on the hour, the kids have to put away any toys they aren’t using right then. Eventually, they will pick up after themselves (hopefully!) so they aren’t interupted every hour to clean up.
Start recognizing what stresses you out, and particularly if it only stresses you out at certain points in the day. That way, you can work to eliminate the chaos that causes you the stress in the first place.
