Cooking rice in the microwave is great, especially if you have a tendency to burn rice using the stovetop method!
In a large microwave safe container, add long grain white rice and water, depending on the quantity needed, from the chart below:
1/2 cup rice + 1 cup water
1 cup rice + 2 cups water
1 1/2 cups rice + 3 cups water
2 cups rice + 4 cups water
Add small pat of butter to container if desired. Heat uncovered on high for 10 minutes, stir then covber and cook on high for 3-4 minutes or until water is absorbed. Let stand for 5 minutes, then fluff with fork and serve.
