Layered Herb Beer Bread in a Jar Mix
This bread will be a hit with the guys!
1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
3 cups self-rising flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup parmesan cheese (not the fresh kind!)
1 tsp basil
1 tsp dill
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp thyme
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp oregano
In a large quart sized jar pack the brown sugar down tightly for the first layer or you could run out of room. In a small bowl mix the flour, baking powder and salt together, then add to jar as second layer. Then layer remaining ingredients in the order listed. Seal jar tightly and attach instructions for layered herb beer bread.
Instructions`
1 12-oz bottle/can of light or regular beer (if the container holds more than 12-oz, only use the 12-oz, don’t add the entire beer!).
1/4 c melted butter
Preheat oven to 350F. In a large bowl, empty contents of layered herb beer bread jar. Mix until well blended. Then slowly pour beer into bowl, so it doesn’t foam up too much. Stir until moistened.
Grease a 9×5 inch baking pan and pour batter into it. Using a small brush, take the melted butter and brush onto top of batter. Bake for 45-55 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Serve!
Bake at 350F for 7-10 minutes, or until done.
