Keeping Laundry Hampers Smelling Fresh

Do your laundry hampers have a funky smell, especially if you have teenage boys who play sports? Unfortunately, even one super smelly jersey shirt can smell up the entire laundry hamper and makes doing the laundry even more unappealing than it already is!

Fortunately, there are a few ways you can keep your laundry hamper from smelling too bad. One way is to simply toss a fabric softener sheet into the bottom of the laundry hamper when you empty it. This will mask some of the smell, and give it a "clean laundry" aroma rather than the "stinky sweat socks" aroma.

Alternatively, you can sprinkle some baking soda in the bottom of the hamper, or even keep a container of it next to the laundry hamper and make a rule that when someone places something smelly into the hamper, they must sprinkle a bit of baking soda on top. Of course, baking soda absorbs smells, helping keep your laundry hamper from smelling like a locker room.
