We all know it just isn’t economical (or healthy!) to throw in a full bag of potato chips or a candy bar for a snack in your childs lunchbox. So here are some great alternatives for snacks in your child’s lunchbox.
Fruit (apple slices, grapes, melon) with a yogurt dip
Pretzels – take one econo bag and split into smaller snack bags
Crackers – even healthy crackers are available in flavors that appeal to kids
Cherry tomatoes – a great snack, and you can even grow your own!
Trail mix – add a few M&Ms to really appeal to your kids.
Dried fruit
Cheese sticks
Hardboiled eggs – even make it a fun time on the weekend to dye the shells for the upcoming week of lunchtime snacks
Veggies with dip (carrots, celery, peppers, red onions, tomatoes, mushrooms, cucumbers).
All these great and inexpensive ideas should help provide some variety in your little one’s lunches! Have more ideas? Add them to our healthy snack list on our forums!!
