Saving
for big ticket purchases
When you are struggling
to save money, it can seem like you will never be able to
save up enough to buy even little things, much less the larger
priced wants and needs.
But when you sit
down with your finances, there are easier ways to save up
money for that brand new television or a new bike for your
son.
First, shop around
to get a good idea of the price of what it is you want to
save for. Your next step is to break it down in terms of a
monthly payment. If you saved $25 each month, you would have
saved enough to purchase a $250 TV in only six months.
You can also adjust
the amount you save, and the duration over which you save
it. Maybe $15 over 12 months is better for you, or maybe you
can afford to set aside $50 for four months.
Think about what
you can save and with a commitment and will power, you will
be able to afford your big ticket item before you know it,
without going into debt.
