Are you wasting electricity from plugged in chargers?
Most people think that chargers for things like cell phoned and cameras only draw power when the deviceis attached to the plug. Not so! Those chargers all draw power even when the device isn’t attached, as well as when something is attached but is already fully charged.
Now, most of us think it is a pain to constantly plug and unplug chargers everytime we go to charge something. And add to that the fact that we tend to have chargers scattered throughout the house because most plus only allow you to plug in two things at once.
Here is an easy way to save money on chargers that aren’t connected to anything without causing a pain.
First, gather up all those chargers and make a central spot being the official charging area. Next, go and purchase a power bar, ideally with a power switch with a light so you can easily tell whether the power bar is turned off or not.
Plug all your chargers into the single power bar. Then, when you actually have a device attached to it, simply flip the switch on the power bar to activate power running to it. Then when you remove it, flip the switch to off – just make sure no one else in the house has attached something else to it that is still charging.
