Homeschooling can be as expensive or as inexpensive as you want to make it. It largely depends on the curriculum you choose, and where your purchase it.
All materials and books needed for homeschooling can be bought retail at many stores (both online and offline) that specialize in children’s educational material. By purchasing this way, you will spend the most money buying everything you need to homeschool.
If you are trying to save money, choose your curriculum, along with the required books and resources, in advance. This will give you ample opportunity to find the best deals on all the materials you need. Garage sales, thrift stores & children’s consignment stores are all places to find your materials at a great price.
eBay is also gaining popularity as a place to purchase homeschooling books, and if you have several months, you can often purchase all your required materials at next to nothing.
Don’t count out the public library, either. They often have wonderful books that can be used to enhance your curriculum.
