Next time you decide that you have to redo your entire living room decor, before you get rid of the furniture to buy something new, try this quick and inexpensive approach to home decor, to try and see if you can refresh your decor without breaking the budget.
To do this inexpensive living room makeover, first you need to look at two things… the existing decor and the current wall color. Because changing a wall color, especially if you do it dramatically, can make your entire living room seem new again, even if all the furnishings remain exactly the same.
First, consider the opposite. If your walls are light right now, go for a bolder color. If you have a darker color now, consider brightening it up with an ecru or white (be aware you will need multiple coats and a good primer).
Now, look for a new accent color. Perhaps your predominantly beige sofa has a red accent to it. Consider color matching it and painting your walls that color. Look for colors of other items in your living room that could be a great new wall color.
If you are concerned about making your room too dark, just to one or two walls, instead of all of the walls. You can always add more dark walls later if you’d like.
