Do you have lots of painting projects planned for your house? You have probably discovered what a pain it is to clean your paint tray, especially when many areas have laws that don’t allow any paint to be washed down the sink. But the one-use paint trays are too flimsy to be used on their own. Here is what you can do to save money on paint trays.
The first one is slightly more expensive, but definitely easy. First, purchase a good quality paint tray, then purchase enough of the one-use paint trays to do all your projects. Insert the one-use trays (which are actually liners, although many people use them on their own to save money) into your paint tray. When you are done with the color, simply throw away the insert and put a new one in for the next color.
The next trick is slightly messier but will save money. Buy a good quality paint tray but then cover it with a plastic bag before using. Then toss the plastic bag when you are done. This can be messier so be sure to secure the edges of the bag to the paint tray with clips so it doesn’t get dislodged by accident.
