How
to paint clouds on a ceiling
What little fairy
princess wouldn't love having clouds painted on the ceiling
of her bedroom? Fortunately, it is quite easy to paint clouds
on a ceiling, even if you don't think you are that artistic
or crafty.
First, you will
need to make sure the ceiling is flat. Textured ceilings can
be done with clouds painted on it, but it will look a little
funny. So for best results, ensure the ceiling is a smooth
surface.
Next, paint the
ceiling with a sky blue ceiling paint. This will be the blue
sky background. Depending on what time of day you want to
portray on the ceiling, select a sky blue or a darker blue.
Allow to dry
Next, select white
ceiling paint. This should be a true bright white and not
an off-white or cream color, because after all, clouds are
white! Pour white paint into a paint tray, then use a paint
sponge to create the cloud effects. Dip the sponge in paint,
then dab on the ceiling for each cloud. You should use a heavier
hand in the middle of each cloud, while lighter on the edges
to create a true cloud appearance.
You should ensure
that the clouds are different sizes and that the placement
is random... you don't want to have clouds all the same size
in a straight line across the ceiling!
Allow to dry, then
touch up any mistakes with leftover blue ceiling paint.
