This is an easy craft your kids can do to make fancy name cards for Thanksgiving.
First, choose small autumn leaves for the rubbings, such as maple leaves or oak leaves. Then have 5″ squares of tissue paper and 5″ construction paper (one each for each name card). With the vein side up, place tissue paper over the leaf and create rubbing with side of crayon. Then carefully cut out tissue paper into shape of leaf.
Next, brush construction paper with liquid starch. Place tissue paper on top, and brush with starch again. Allow to dry, then cut out shape of leaf, either following the line of tissue paper, or leaving a small border.
Fold construction paper in half for the name cards, so they stand up, then carefully glue leaf to the name card – you will likely only be able to glue the bottom half of the leaf, while the remainder will be on top of the name card. Allow to dry then write name on name card.
