Want to show off your kids fabulous Easter egg creations but don’t want to buy the kids that have those mini cardboard type stands? Here is a great trick to show off those eggs!
Throughout the year, save the caps from bottles that look pretty. Give them a quick rinse or wash, depending on what was stored in the bottle, then throw them into a ziploc bag to wait for Easter. Bottled water, fancy vinegars, screw-top wine and some ethnic sauces often have fancier lids in a variety of colors. With a wide assortment of colors, picking out the “perfect” stand can be part of the fun of Easter egg decorating!
When your kids are making Easter eggs, simply choose a cap and turn it upside down, then balance the egg in the cap. They also work great for letting the dye dry without leaving a mark on the side like what happens when you rest them on the side on newspaper to dry.
Almost Easter? Ask your friends and family to save their caps for you so you have enough!
