These are easy sneaker designs for your kids to create their own custom pair of patriotic shoes for this 4th of July.

Brushes and stencils

FolkArt craft paint is available in most larger craft stores. You do need the textile medium in order to "set" the colors on the shoes.

Mix textile medium with each color according to instructions. Paint your 4th of July design on as desired. You can get a stars stencil to help with stars, as well as a straight edge to do red and white lines if desired. You can also paint "USA" or another patriotic slogan on the toe or side of the shoe. Allow to dry for 24-48 hours, then you will need to place them in the dryer for half an hour to set the colors (according to instructions).
