Tie Dye easter eggs are fun to create with your kids. You need multiple colors for tie dying Easter eggs. For each color you need:
- 10 drops food coloring
- 1 teaspoon white vinegar
- 1/2 cup boiling water
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- hardboiled eggs (here is a refresher on how to make perfect hard boiled eggs without green yolks!)
For each color you want, in a small container suitable for dipping eggs combine 1/2 cup boiling water, 1 tsp vinegar, olive oil and ten drops of food coloring (mix colors to create your own color from the food coloring you have on hand!), stirring with a fork so the oil is in tiny bubbles instead of one blop. You may need to stir as you dye the eggs if it forms into a blob again.
Dip the eggs in the color for 2-5 minutes, depending on the intensity of the color (the longer the egg is in, the darker and more vibrant the color). Blot with a paper towel and dip in the second color, blotting when done. Repeat with as many colors as you like. Let your tie dye eggs dry!
