You often hear
of anxiety, but not many people realize that some of their
seeminly unrelated physical symptoms are due to anxiety. But
symptoms of anxiety disappear once the cause is eliminated.
And in children, it is especially hard to for parents to tell
because the cause could be outside the home (such as bullying).
Here is a list
of the common physical symptoms of anxiety:
Sweating
Cold, clammy
hands
Muscle tension
or aches
Restlessness
Fatigue
Insomnia
Breathlessness
or rapid heartbeart
Trembling
Dizziness or
feelings of lightheadedness
Tightness in
the chest
Feeling of a
lump in the throat
If you suspect
anxiety, you can discuss it further with your physician including
possible treatment plans to eliminate the cause or treat the
symptoms, especially if it is interfering with every day life.
