the you seem to have kids that tend to bump and bruise constantly while playing outside? if so, you know how handy ice packs can be when it comes to curing a child’s tears. But ice packs are expensive, and kids seem to puncture them on a regular basis, and you may not realize it is quite easy to make them at home yourself.
To make your own ice packs, you’ll need two Ziploc bags (they can be the thin sandwich style, but they will last longer and be more durable with the freezer style Ziploc bags), water, and one quarter cup of rubbing alcohol for each ice pack you are making.
In an easy-pour cup, combine three quarters of a cup of water with one quarter cup of rubbing alcohol. Pour of the mixture into the Ziploc bag. Carefully squeeze the air out and zip seal it. then plays that Ziploc bag into the second Ziploc bag, carefully squeezing the air out and sealing it. Then place in the freezer until needed.
When you notice the mixture leaking out of the inside bag, you can easily transfer its into a new set of two Ziploc bags.
