If you have gel or acrylic nails and want to remove them (such as if they are lifting or some are broken) you don’t have to go back to the nail technician if you don’t plan on getting a new set.
First, heat a microwave safe bowl by heating warm water in it. Pour out the water and add acetone nail polish remover, enough so that you can place your fingertips into the acetone. Allow to soak for about ten minutes. Reheat the bowl if necessary. You should be able to pull them off either with your other hand or by using a pointed nail file to go between the gel or acrylic nail and the real nail. You can then use a soft nail block to remove the last later of adhesive gel on the top of the nail.
Do note that your nails may be slightly weaker in the days after you remove the gel or acrylic nails.
