How to disinfect a toothbrush

You found out your daughter let her sleepover guest use her toothbrush or your family is sick and you want to disinfect toothbrushes without having to drag the whole sick household with you to the store to buy new ones. Here is how to disinfect toothbrushes.

There are two main ways to do it. The first is to simply pop it in the dishwasher, right in the utensil rack. Allow to airdry, if not completely dry. If you have a sterilize setting on your dishwasher, use that.

You can also use bleach to disinfect. Dilute the bleach according to the bottle instructions and soak for a few hours or overnight. Rinse well then allow to air dry before using.
