Did you realize
that if you plan your meals without thought to what meats
and vegetables are on sale that you end up spending way more
money than you would otherwise? You should always plan your
family's weekly meals based upon what is on sale at the grocery
store.
Lets say you had
planned to serve pork chops this week, because they are normally
cheaper than chicken breasts. But what if you didn't notice
that chicken breast cutlets were on sale and actually cheaper
per meal than the pork chops? You would have spent more money
on the meal than you could have otherwise.
While you might
have a dish or two in mind for the week ahead, you should
sit down on the weekend with the various grocery store flyers
to see what is on sale. Then see what you can substitute.
Can you use chicken thighs instead of chicken legs or vice
versa?
When you plan your
meals based around what is on sale, you will end up spending
much less money, which means it is much better for your budget!
