Home Saving money on groceries
Keep
track of your household product inventory
How times have
you gone grocery shopping and picked up two packages of toilet
paper when you really should've gotten to packages of paper
towels instead? Household products such as cleaners, toiletries,
and essentials are things that are often missed off of grocery
list and often result in having too much of one thing and
not enough of another.
One way to prevent
this is to simply keep track of what you have, everything
from dish soap and paper towels, right down to deodorant and
toothpaste. You can easily keep track of it on a piece of
paper or even on your computer, then you can print out what
you need and don't need for household items. and this will
also help you make on the spot decisions for those unadvertised
specials. You might already have two 4-packs of toilet paper
in the cupboard, but if you spot a good deal, stock up knowing
that your family will go through your current inventory in
under a month.
Something else
to keep in mind when it comes to purchase a household items
is how much you will truly use in the year. Yes, $.49 for
a tube of toothpaste is a great deal, but buying 30 of them
might not be the best budget conscious decision if you only
go through four tubes the year. So it is important to keep
in mind usage when you decide to stock up on household items.
