When you have a planned day to cook many meals at once, whether you are cooking a week’s worth or a month’s worth at a time, doing some free assembly work ahead of time can save you a lot of time as well as stress on your actual cooking day.
Look over your recipes, and think about what can be done a day or two ahead of time. Things such as grating cheese or chopping veggies can be done in advance, as can such things as cutting up chickens or slicing beef into cubes or strips. What ever can be done in advance should be done.
Some of the pre-assembly things to be done could include:
- dicing or slicing vegetables
- cooking beef or chicken
- grating cheese
- making sauces
- cooking pasta noodles
- labeling containers
Remember, the more you can do in advance the better, because that is time you’ll save on your actual cooking day. And that day will be long enough as it is 😉
