How to organize your freezer meals into weekly plans in the freezer

If you have gone ahead and organized your chest freezer with crates (instructions on how to do that here), there is an easy method to keep track of your weekly meals easily using the crate method.

Once you have finished cooking, separate each week's meals into its own crate. If you have some "extra" meals, add them to a fifth crate. Then label each week's crates with what week it is. And if you use our Freezer Cooking Calendar, you won't need to then relabel each crate with what is in it (although each meal should still be individually labelled), just simply labelling it "Week 1" and "Week 2" and so on is good enough.

When you organize your meals by each week, you will find that there is a much less likelihood of meals going forgotten in the bottom of your freezer. After all, you aren't saving time and money freezer cooking if you forget to eat the meal before its time is up!
