Do you or your daughter want the trendy crease marks on the tops of a pair jeans? Instead of buying a new pair, why not give your old pair of jeans a new look by adding your own crease lines?
For this craft, you need bleach and water as well as some plastic to keep the bleach from soaking through to the back of the pair of jeans. A piece of cardboard in a Ziploc bag works well, because you can feel the cardboard there.
In a small container, mix one part bleach to one part water. The easiest way to do this is to simply mix 1 cup of bleach with one couple water and give it a quick stir. Place the cardboard and a washed pair of jeans, underneath where the whisker lines will be. Fold the jeans over a few times, where the natural crease would be when someone is sitting. Using a sponge, get one part into the bleach solution, then rub it along the folded creases, ensuring that the liquid is penetrating the creases. Continue until all the creases are done.
Allow the bleach to set for about 15 minutes on the jeans, or until you have the desired bleached creases look. Time will vary depending on the thickness of the denim as well as the starting color of the denim, so be sure to watch it carefully throughout the entire 15 minutes waiting process.
Next, in a larger bowl of 10 cups of water and 2 cups of vinegar, drop the entire pair jeans into the bowl, to stop the bleaching process. Swish them around for a few minutes, ensuring it is penetrating the crease area then let sit in the mixture for five minutes. Now wash and dry like usual, and now your new jeans are ready for wearing.
