Can't give up your favorite sports channel or watching Grey's Anatomy? Many people won't give up their cable bill because they are addicted to their favorite "must see TV". But fortunately, if you are paying for high speed internet access, you can very likely cut your cable bill off completely.

Many US television networks are offering the option of wartching episodes of your favorite drama or sitcom online... for free or for such a nominal cost that it would come in well under your regular monthly cable bill, even if you watched every episode of your favorite few shows.

First, check the websites of your favorite networks to see what they offer. ABC.com for example offers many shows, such as Desperate Housewives, Grey's Anatomy and more, for free! All you have to do is watch a commercial or two before hand... something you'd be doing if you watched it on TV anyway. CBS offers episodes for a small fee of shows such as Survivor.

And if you have an XBOX 360, you can stream it from your computer right to your television (you must have your XBOX set up to connect to the internet).

So if you are looking for ways to cut corners in your budget, watching television online instead of through your local cable company is something that is very much do-able... without suffering from missing any of your favorite shows.
