There are many different types of slow cookers on the market today, and a newer popular one is a slow cooker that is combined with a 9 in 1 or 10 in appliance like the instant pot. However some people don’t like the instapot because it has a solid lid than you can’t see through.
Does it matter if your slow cooker has a glass lid or not? From a cooking standpoint it doesn’t matter what kind of lit is on your slow cooker. But from a personal cooking standpoint, there are many reasons why a glass lid is preferable to the solid lid featured on in instant pot.
With a glass glad you are much less likely to lift the lid to see how the meal is doing, since you can just simply look through the glass to see. And this is an issue because lifting the lid of your slow cooker, if it’s not right at the end of the cooking time, can add a significant amount of time to the required cooking time in the slow cooker for safety reasons.
Also if you’d like to tweak your own slow cooker recipes or you’d like to create your own you definitely want to be able to look through the lid to be sure that there is enough liquid in the slow cooker to cook it properly, so you’re not burning your meal.
Other than for these reasons, there really is no reason why you need to have a glass lidv for your slow cooker, other than personal preference.
