When you are making a recipe for your slow cooker, it will call for a specific amount of liquid ingredients. But be sure you include all the liquid ingredients, because too much or too little can affect how the recipe cooks.
Sometimes it looks as though there is not enough liquid in the slow cooker. But because there is a lid, don’t forget the condensation will drip off the lid and back into the pot, so the liquid will be recycled the entire cooking process, rather than evaporating like some would expect it to.
If you don’t have a liquid ingredient, be sure to replace it with an equal amount of another liquid. If your recipe calls for 1/2 c chicken broth, replace it with 1/2 c of something else, even if it is water.
