Tin can lanterns is a craft that kids can either do themselves, or do all but the nailing of the holes.
Wash and dry the tin cans, being sure to remove all paper from the outside. Using a small tip marker (such as a Sharpie), create a design with dots on the outside of the tin can. Then fill with water and freeze.
Once frozen solid, remove and using a nail (one with a wide head makes it easier for beginners), place the nail tip on each design dot and hit with hammer to create the design.
If using as a hanging latern, don’t forget to add two larger holes near the top to put wire through.
Paint the outside of the can if desired.
Add a votive candle inside and enjoy the lantern!
