If you are like me, it seems as though I always have a ton of plastic bags stashed under my sink that tend to overrun everything else under there. And while some stores have a grocery bag recycling program where you can return plastic bags, you still have the problem of them being around until you take them for recycling.
You can make an easy plastic bag recycling box, and one that you can even keep on a kitchen counter or put in a cupboard to leave that catchall under the sink a bit clearer.
First, you need an empty tissue box. Then wrap the box in decorative wrapping paper, such as paper leftover from a gift, or even plain paper that you have your kid’s decorate for you (give them only the crayon colors that match your décor!). Or if the tissue box you have was especially pretty, you don’t even have to wrap it.
Then, just stuff the bags into the box. Then when it is time to recycle them, or if you need to use one, just pull a bag out of the top as you would a tissue.
