Did you know that once you open your sealed package of cheese from the grocery store that you shouldn’t reseal it in plastic wrap from your home? Believe it or not, this actually makes cheese go bad faster. This is why at the grocery store when they repackage cheese, they either vacuum seal it, or wrap it in about 6 layers of plastic wrap.
First and foremost, a vacuum sealer is the best way to reseal your cheese, however, not many households have one. And it can get expensive if you cut off a piece of cheese multiple times per day to vacuum seal it every time.
Ideally, if you don’t have your own vacuum sealer, you should wrap your cheese in either aluminum foil or waxed paper before storing it in your refrigerator. Only use plastic wrap or a plastic ziploc bag if you don’t have either foil or waxed paper.
