If you aren’t lucky enough to have a casserole carrier to transport your hot casseroles to potlucks, it can be a challenge to get your dish from your house to the potluck without spilling and while ensuring it stays hot. If you attend a lot of potlucks, you should keep your eyes peeled for a sale on an insulated carrier, but in the meantime, here is how you can transport your casserole with ease.
Get a cardboard box slightly larger than your casserole. Line the box with a bath or beach towel and place the casserole (covered of course!) on top. Then back extra dish towels on either side of the casserole and cover the rest with another large bath or beach towel.
The towels will not only keep your dish hot until you get to the potluck, but it will also soak up any spills enroute!
If you do take casseroles to potlucks frequently, investing in a great insulated travel carrier is worth the money. Your dish stays hotter longer, and the carriers are designed to fit your casserole dish perfectly, meaning less spills and it is much easier for you to carry to and from the car.
